Thanks for the email. The first lesson was fine, thank you. It was quite basic in that we repeated the sit, down, stand and look commands that Chris had asked us to practice at the orientation lesson. But I think a basic first lesson is necessary as the pups are over stimulated by the new environment, so I think this was appropriate.
I did find that the trainer at Honeydew (forgot his name) tends to take a ‘punitive’ approach; asking questions with the intent of using incorrect answers as an example to the others which, by the end of the class meant people were less likely to want to answer in fear of being wrong. Having said that I think the trainer relaxed a bit by the end, and he began listening a bit more.
So overall it was good, although there were moments of concern. I look forward to future lessons, thank you.
